So, at halftime of the Sunday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington REDSKINS, Bob Costas decided to lay down some wisdom on America. He started out okay in his discussion of Obama's new pet project, to pressure Washington into changing the name of the football team, but almost at the end when you were suffiently sucked in, he threw out the bombshell.....the use of the term "Redskins" is indeed offensive...a nasty slur.
And there you have it. Just like Global Warming, um, I mean Climate Change, the debate about the term "Redskins" is now settled science. Expect for Washington to be changing their name very soon.
If you follow Bob’s logic, he shouldn’t own a BMW. What a hypocrite! typical liberal to make a problem where it doesn’t exist!
I figure that with all the pc fascism we now live under, some football team will be forced to take one of those names or one equally as awful.

But seriously, the Washington Redskins should change their name to the DC Gangstas. That way, the offense to the DC establishment will be intentional and deserved.

Man, I could really get on a jag about Puritans... and the related Calvinists... now I got to respect the role that they played in carrying Christianity in an American context, and they got some very important things right too, one of them being the security of the saved (a simple gospel principle). Christ uses flawed vessels. But we can do a lot better than this (though, we must be warned, lest we pride ourselves, it will still not be perfect this side of heaven).
Anyhow when you take all the BAD stuff about Puritanism and Calvinism and snatch Christ away from it... you pretty much get today’s liberal.
(Personally, I can’t see how any Christian can miss the humongous opportunity that Christmas gives. Thanks to Christmas carols, the gospel STILL is heard every year in supposedly secular places.)

If Costas was serious he should have refused to work this game so he wouldn’t have to utter the team’s name.
