DERRY, NH (CBS) Officer Rob Moore pulls up to the McDonalds drive-through in Derry, New Hampshire a couple times a week for some fast food, ordering a double quarter pounder with cheese. Its usually the only place open working the night shift.
Raw McDonald's hamburger served to NH police officer. (Photo from Rob Moore) Raw McDonalds hamburger served to NH police officer. (Photo from Rob Moore) I was the only one at the restaurant. I drove through and I was in full uniform, said Moore. He grabbed his order and pretty hungry he dug in and quickly took four bites before realizing something was wrong. I took the bun off and the first patty was cooked, the second patty revealed a raw mess and Im sitting there holding that. I couldnt believe what I just ate.
Officer Moore believes it was no accident given the circumstances. A lot of people dont like police officers, all the circumstances are there. Only one there in full uniform and it was obviously cooked after I arrived.

I’m surprised he didn’t go back and shoot the cook and claim he came at him with a knife.

Maybe a cop shot the cook’s dog.
Prolly the look of it just reminded the cook about his dog the cops had shot 4 or 5 times with 40cal HPs.
Kill all dogs and the mentally ill.
A substantial number of fast food workers have, shall we say, extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system. For this reason, most cops have sense enough to figure out which restaurants to avoid. Best line I’ve heard:
“I see you got bonded out in time to cover your shift.” :o)
“Bring the burger back and we’ll recook it for you”.
I’m no apologist for MCD, but the cop should be thankful it happened at a Mickey-D’s.
MCD’s supply plants have the highest food-safety standards of any food producer I have seen - and that’s a lot of them.
They know they have potentially thousands of careless teens and lazy, stupid adults working at their franchises who can do unimaginably stupid things and can create all kinds of risk - so everything they do is geared towards minimizing the problems these people can create.
Hey, ain’t that in the Koran?
Looks like freshly killed dog. Maybe he thought the officer would like that.
He did not get violently ill hours after eating.
Meat is so chock full of antibiotics and hormones these days.
What probably happened is he might have been served a patty that wasn’t fully cooke and you’re not going to get sick from that unless it had been sitting out all day, which is unlikely.
I eat raw hamburger and meat all the time and never get sick.
Plus I tell chefs and cooks to “Threaten” my steak.
I like it rare, which is warm to the touch and I never get sick.
I’ve had steak with a few Freepers who can attest to my liking steak that wzy.
I’m guessing he doesn’t know how fast food, except a few, is prepared.
Steak tartare, tuna tartare...yum!
“”Growing up, I also remember my mother eating raw hamburger whenever she made meatballs or meatloaf... shes still fit as a fiddle at seventy.””
I’m beyond that age and we ate raw hamburger as kids - it was our own beef butchered and ground but I don’t know if that made any difference. I don’t remember getting sick from it.
I live in Derry.
I’ve been to that McDonalds.
I’m not surprised.
How true. I called my doctor about a sore throat. He said to take two patties and don't forget the appointment with my gynecologist next week!
A variation of the spit burger.
steak tartar does not = pink slime tartar
Officer Moor, chew and then swallow. You’re welcome.
Could have been much worse. A low life I knew used to brag about his work in a fast food place where he’d hawk up an oyster and spit it into a hamburger before it went out.
My favorite is from basic training where this other private enjoyed cleaning the CO’s office. I was detailed to help him once and he was so happy. I had to ask why. When cleaning the CO’s coffee cup, he ran a certain part of his anatomy around the inside of the clean cup before putting it away. The 1SG got the same treatment.
