Dems New Mantra: "It's OK to lie. You need coverage that gives you adequate healthcare."

I am so tired of the new Democrat argument that you can keep your insurance coverage "Unless you have coverage that's insufficient to accomplish the objectives of giving you adequate, quality healthcare." (Rep. Hoyer) Who the hell are they to decide what that coverage should be? I do not need to pay for Sandra Fluke's contraceptives! I do not need to pay for maternity care! I do not need to pay for pregnancy testing, substance abuse, or pediatric care. I have no children. Pre-existing conditions? There are other, simpler ways to tackle that. Psychiatric care? Well, maybe. Let me think about it. Preventative medicine? I am already in a health management program that I pay for! But, the worst thing is the arrogance. Big Brother knows what's good for you. You, the citizen, are too stupid to figure it out for yourself. The insurance companies are evil, blah blah blah. I'm sick of it!

Well, yeah, except for solipsistic libs, truth is only what they think it is, so the term “lie” is not something they understand.

Ok, so the idea, that for half the cost of the website we could have sent $1 million to every American, is so mind-blowing that I have been trying to find the fatal flaw in out logic. I think I found it. We’re $17 Trillion in Debt, so it’s imaginary money anyway. Still, I like your way of going into debt more than their way. :-)

I’m sorry, dear. We dispense Soma according to our needs, not yours. You will be eligible for a temporary supply sometime in the spring. The exact date your supply will be shipped is subject to the terms expressed on pg 11530 of the ACA. As you should be aware by now, that date is calculated based on “x”, “x” being how well we think you vote this November.

Thank You for shopping at ObamaRx.

If you vote correctly...

Forget single payer, I think this is what they really want. They want to dangle your pills in front of your eyes while they make um, suggestions.

I got my divorce letter from BCBS, by the way. I had re-enrolled in Sept, on the off chance that I’d get a policy that was Obama friendly. No such luck, the policy I bought has been deemed (not by me, but by my superiors in gubmint) to be not good enough for me.

My options are to upgrade to their comparable plan that remains effective through next year and THEN gets cancelled, or suck it up and marry an employer that offers health care, or I guess give up the fight and go on welfare.

I am resigned to sitting back and laughing at all of it. Hopefully one of the above three options will allow me the time I’d like to accomplish this.

The letter is underneath a pile of crap on the kitchen table, so I’m going by memory, but it was an overall happy correspondence. They only want a few dollars more a month.

With the exception of the kids’ well visits, I’ve never filed a claim with BCBS. I’ve had a cash only guy we used for things like pink eye, allergies. I used a midwife and gave birth in the dining room ($2000 cash up front.) From what I’ve read about others, I think that’s partly why I got so lucky.

I’ve always been paranoid about “The Man” knowing my business. I don’t know why, or where it came from back then. I clearly remember after the first time I was robbed at a pharmacy at knifepoint in the middle of the night, I got an rx for klonopin because I was having these little panic attacks for a while afterwards. Something would fall over behind me, and I’d jump. And for whatever reason, even though I could have used the company insurance to pay for them, I paid cash. I didn’t want it “on my record.” I’m imagining these insurance companies being forced to examine every potential customer “well, they took so and so back in ‘08, they are a risk, put them in this category”.

I still believe this whole Obamacare experiment will become an unfixable failure. We’ll see all new options next year when the adults realize what a mess they have created.

I know what you mean about “the man.” I think most people on the Right have agreed that the healthcare system has problems. We just don’t like the Draconian/Orwellian fix that the Left is imposing upon us. There are simpler solutions.
