Vanity - Looking for Freeper Talent

Hi all, I am looking for a writer for a political web comic. Ideally this would be a 50/50 collaboration, both of us would have veto on publication.

The comic would be centered around the Oval Office, with BO and his cohorts as the main characters. About a year ago I played with this idea, and here is a draft of what I imagine the comic would look like. My style has changed somewhat, and would be a little more refined, but this is a valid example.

I can build the website and provide the artwork. You would supply the script centered around current events at least 2 days in advance of publication date.

To begin with, the comic would update 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays. We could move to a five day a week once the production is streamlined. 1 to 5 panels per strip, 3 being optimum. I see the strip as pointing out the lies and stupidity of the administration, in a funny and sarcastic way. http://www.daybydaycartoon.com/ with a little more bite and chuckle. In the beginning I would like you to use me for a bouncing board of ideas and dialog. Once we are both comfortable with the process, we could move away from this. We would both have equal billing on the comic.

I have been involved in different web comics over the years, and can tell you there is no profit to be made here. If any money is to be made, it is at least 2 years down the road. This is more of a labor of love for our country then anything else. Think "Simon Jester". Initially at least I will supply costs out of my pocket, and not sell anything so we could avoid taxes, no income will be coming from this.

I am strongly conservative fiscally and believe in the smallest goverment possible. Socialy conservative issues mean less to me. I am not religous, but have no issue working with the deeply religious (I am the black sheep of my Christian family) . I belong to the Libertarian wing of Free Republic, don't really care what other people do with there lives.

This WILL be a huge commitment of your time. Do NOT reply without thinking this thru!

This could be a really fun and emotionally rewarding experience. The chances of finding the right person is small, but I think Free Republic is probably the best place to find a like mind.

Is there a way you could post the cartoons leaving the speech parts blank for Freepers to fill in?

Have a contest and see who can come up with the funniest script.

Kind of like the “Hitler finds out” videos.

Why don’t you just post the topics for the week on a thread here and Freepers can submit their 3-5 pane dialogs and you can draw the winner?

That way you will always have writing content.

I'll echo the suggestions above that you involve the Freepers rather than have a partnership. That way none of us would need to make a heavy commitment, and you'd be crowd-sourcing your scripts. I'd be delighted to put in an idea whenever I have one, but I couldn't commit to a weekly schedule. There's a lot of brainpower out here. Take advantage of it. I think most of us would settle for having our name on the script-of-the-week rather than looking for actual cash.
