There's only one flaw in this otherwise cute video of a button-eyed raccoon dexterously eating grapes like he's people: the audio. The sounds of slurping and chomping in this video — apparently uploaded by a Russian YouTuber

I think that guy’s been coming to our house and eating our kitty’s food. Looks like a familiar move...hubby caught him sneaking up and slowly reaching kibble from her bowl.

We had them staying in our relatively warm garage
(uninvited); they found the birdseed / cat & dog food and
safe warm nesting area above the dog-trot / porch
until we caught 'em chewing on the wires after that
live traps & relocation..lockable trashcans
for pet's food & if they were caught in the open,
we / I "soaped" 'em w/ power hose (for the new ones).
..after one year they were gone.

Raccoon feces carry the eggs to a very nasty round worm that humans are VERY susceptible. You can get it from just breathing the air that the dried feces dust is suspended in. Yes they are cute, but possibly deadly because of this.

I didn’t see mention of baylisascaris infectimg people through airborn transmission.

“Many raccoons carry a roundworm called baylisascaris. Infected raccoons pass baylisascaris eggs in the feces. Other animals and people can get infected if they accidentally swallow the eggs in soil or water. “

Hantavirus can be transmitted through breathing it in.

The saying around here is: Don’t sweep the poop

After a raccoon killed a kitten I was raising in a most gruesome way, raccoons are not my favorites. A few days after the killing saw a dead raccoon in the middle of the road with big tire tracks across the body...he got his.
