First off, psychopath doesn't just mean someone who cuts you up with a chainsaw though the majority of people who do things like that are psychopaths. What is the definition?
Psychopathy is a personality disorder that has been variously described as characterized by shallow emotions (in particular reduced fear), stress tolerance, lacking empathy, coldheartedness, lacking guilt, egocentricity, superficial character, manipulativeness, irresponsibility, impulsivity, and antisocial behaviors such as parasitic lifestyle and criminality.
So which professions (other than ax murderer) have the most psychopaths? What about the least?
The next thing that comes to mind is probably, "Why?"
Most of the professions on the right require human connection, dealing with feelings and most of them don't offer much power. Psychopaths, by their very nature, would not be drawn to or very good at these things.
On the other hand, most of the roles on the left do offer power and many require an ability to make objective, clinical decisions divorced from feelings. Psychopaths would be drawn to these roles and thrive there.
That said
Chef? Really?
I guess it pays to tread lightly around anyone who has a set of knives bearing their initials.

“Clergyperson”????
Accountant?
Politician! Hands Down! Any “profession” that feels they have to run the lives of others gets my vote.
so to speak.
I’ve generally found accountants to be nice people.
MBA’s... not so much.
A high score on the PCL-R test should be grounds for managerial job exclusion.
Corporate psychopaths need to be identified and bounced before they destroy people and companies.
I’m surprised to see Psychiatrists and psychologists not on the list. I suspect a lot of people who pursue those fields are trying to “cure” themselves or at least understand themselves.
Second, there is no source or study referenced, so this could just be somebody’s hit list.
And I’m surprised to see Caregiver at the least of the list. My experience with caregivers are that a number of them are in it to steal drugs from their patients. And others are in it to steal money from them.
I don’t see accounting as a profession that requires caring and connection. That was one reason I chose it! I loved sitting in a cubicle with pages of numbers all day.
It’s interesting how “surgeon” and “doctor” are so far apart.
Turns out the author is a psychologist....hmmmm?
Really!
I have met unbalanced accountants.
MBAs... not so much....HEY! I resemble that remark! DON”T SCREW WITH ME OR I”LL POST IN ALL CAPS FOR A YEAR!!! Of course I’m a well balanced person UNTIL YOU PISS ME OFF!!!!!
Wrong in the left column!
