my 1965 Chevelle Malibu never had any of those fancy things. It’s rings went out at about 100K though.

Of course. You’re talking about real America from back when we weren’t ruled by socialists. I’d sooner take a wire brush to my a@@ than buy a GM car/truck now.

283 or 287 cu.in. V-8 with 4 on the floor. I traded it in back in 1972, thus I’m a bit fuzzy on the exact cu.in. of the engine.

IIRC, the Chevy small-block V8 from back then was indeed 283 CID; next size up was 327. The competing Ford engine was the 289.
