Police in Dresden, Germany, say they have arrested a 55-year-old police officer on suspicion of murdering and butchering a man he met on a cannibalism website.
The two men met on Zambian Meat, an Internet chat forum where people discuss their sexual and cannibalistic fantasies. Text messages and online chats revealed that the 59-year-old victim from Hanover asked to be killed, police said.

Is it just me, or has Germany been the source of cannibal killings for the past decade or so?

There was something just a little too disturbing about that whole Der Sprockets routine...

Germany seems to have a higher rate than most places. Middle Ages, Early Modern Period, 20th century ... Germany seems to have more than its fair share. In earlier times, some cannibalism cases contributed to “werewolf” mythology. And, yeah, “werewolf” is a German word.

was he fired?
There was a story about a cop in Germany who was CONVICTED of rape and assault and was given a suspended sentence and not fired from his job.
Insane.

Dresden Police Chief Dieter Kroll said at a news conference: "The victim had been fantasizing about being killed and eaten since his youth." And when asked how they were able to crack the case, Kroll replied: "Alimentary, mein dear Watson, alimentary."
Kroll added that he himself would never consider eating a human, since he is a Dieter.

A fantasy/desire to consume human meat is most certainly demonically influenced.
A desire to be killed and consumed by a human is the counterpart, and just as demonic.
That these two found each other is perhaps fortuitous.
But, the demons aren’t dead or imprisoned, yet.
