Clear Channel announced Thursday that progressive talker KTLK "Diverse LA" will flip format to an all-conservative line-up and will be re-branded "Patriot 1150." KTLK's foundering liberal line-up had included Stephanie Miller, Randi Rhodes, and Bill Press. KTLK's ratings have been anemic, averaging 0.2 in the 6+ demographic over the past six months. In November, the liberal line-up registered #41 in the crowded LA market. In comparison, conservative KFI finished in the top 10 with a 3.4 in the same demo

Why do liberals need talk radio when they have all the other forms of media under their control?
Because, to a leftist, too much control is never enough.
They cannot stand ONE dissenting voice.
The liberals were having problems listening. AM reception isn’t that good in the basements.
The Facebook page for KTLK is predictable; “you are dead to me in January”; “knuckle dragging conservatives” etc. I just posted the diff. in ratings between KFI and KTLK
(the latter has ratings lower than whale excrement); thus the change.
I hate to break everyone’s bubble, but the fact of the matter is that Liberals really aren’t very bright or given to thinking. Generally speaking, they’re a lazy bunch given to nifty sounding slogans and group think, but they’re never really interested in intellectually analyzing much beyond where they’re going to get their next score of weed.
I tuned in to a brand new liberal talk show and all they did was list all the Republican leaders they didn’t want to have sex with. Lots of broken hearts there, fellas. Followed by their daily 9-11 truther hour.
Their radio station went bankrupt and changed hands. It now plays country music all day.
The late Jerry Williams was in Boston (and some other cities) and had been seen as a liberal in the old days. Later he turned more “populist” as he called it—mostly
a “muckraker” against the Dem.-controlled state of MA.
He’d rail against Gov Mike Dukakis, especially in his pres. run year of 78; “fees, fines, and taxes”; big government
(in the old days he’d have people call or write legislators); etc. In some ways he espoused the old meaning of liberal: individual liberty, small but efficient government. If he was a liberal he was more in the style of JFK, not Ted (hic!)
He kept playing that clip from Network that had Howard Beale saying “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!” Yes, that was passion, that was emotion,
but it was accompanied by THOUGHT. Today’s liberals have
emotion..but no thought.
Good night and good luck, good night to you...
Libtard talk shows don’t succeed because their ideas can so easily be picked apart and debunked by any normal thinking caller of average intelligence. Smoke, mirrors and lies only stand a short while, when rational conversation intrudes into the usual mental masturbation they engage in among themselves.
It may be internet crap
As the saying goes, facts defeat liberalism.
I tend to point out Air America didn’t succeed because there already is a network of powerful FM stations, complete with funding by the government and George Soros
even paid millions of bucks to hire reporters for them.
It’s called NPR.
And while they want to bring back the Fairness Doctrine,
do they really want it back? It would mean 50 per cent conservative content on NPR, wouldn’t it?
I listen to Rush on KFI. 9 AM to Noon. AFAIK, there are no other talk shows of interest on KFI. Maybe I’m missing something but it always seemed odd to me that KFI wouldn’t go All-Conservative since Rush has surely been their main money-maker.
So I see this as good move. Out with the Libs and we get another conservative station in LA.
Bravo to 1150 AM for making this smart move.
Only downside: KFI has a lot bigger area coverage than 1150 AM. So there may be some loss of audience for Rush. He may need to add some stations for the outlying areas.

Some comments:
—Lefties lose again...HINT: If you can’t draw an audience spewing your leftist drivel after years of being given ample opportunity, maybe you should examine the validity of your of your views.
—Guess you’ll have to change your motto, since you are now the home of Limbaugh, Hannity and the like the new motto should be “KTLK - the new home of conservative hate radio”. Too bad, it was fun while it lasted. But at least it frees up a spot on my radio dial.
—I will not be listening to KTLK after January if it becomes a right wing hate channel. This is ruining our country, hate and ignorance. No thank you.
—Changing the format to knuckle dragging, right wing propaganda?
I’m out. Tell your advertisers.
—there you go again how can you call yourself california’s progressive station? so southern cal is going to be all right wing all the time? there is nothing progressive about your station. now that you are moving that fat pig limbau and his buddies hannity and glenn beck to your station and calling the patriot? there is nothing patriotic about that. as soon as randi and steph are gone from your station i will stop listening. there is still streaming, i heart, tunin radio and progressive voices. you guys suck
“You mean the vaunted Hispanic immigrant ubermensch the saviors of all that is America did not listen to 3 white libs extoll about their moral superiority, Im flabbergasted.”
The Hispanic illegals, the knockout kings, and the other biggest lib audience, the failure to launch slugs still living with their parents, isn’t really a good radio market for advertisers.
When does this happen?
I only listen to Rush on KFI. All the others are just wannabe Rush’s. lol
