The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you. This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. There is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.
OMG! LOL! Gotta tell Darlin about this, as nasal drops/sprays is D’s preferred treatment. Can’t tell you the number of times Darlin has chased me around trying to persuade me to put drops in my nose! Every time I give in, I am reminded of why I don’t like them! Can’t imagine putting hot peppers up my nose! OUCH!!!!
My old preferred method was sticking an aspirator up ny nose, and sucking stuff out...or as my daughter used to scream when she was little, "accchhh, you're sucking my brains out, are you trying to kill me?"
One of the things that was always anathema to me..snotty nose kids with green crust around their nose holes.. or raw pink skin above their lip from nasal drips. She never had that problem thanks to my torture/aspirator method.
And yes, since I did it to myself, too..it did feel sometimes like it was sucking my brains out, all the way to the top of my forehead.
Hmmm. I have not tried that one. Maybe I’ll do that in the future in case my astragalus fails me.
Mom did that to us. Our colds didn’t last long, up went the aspirator, followed by “soothing” warm Vicks and a pad of warm Vicks on the chest and back.
