Christmas in Connecticut feels a little less Christmas-y in one high school after a teacher told students they could not decorate the classroom door with Santa Claus or Christmas trees.
This is political correctness run amuck, an outraged mom told me.
Her child attends Fairfield Ludlowe High School. The entire school is involved in a door decorating contest.
This is what happens when you allow the patchouli and granola crowd to teach our kids.Students in her childs class tossed out some ideas for a Christmas-themed door. One student suggested a Christmas tree and another student suggested a Santa Claus-inspired fireplace design. But both were rejected.
She [the teacher] said no reference to Christmas at all can be on the decorations on the door, the parent said. My son was in disbelief and asked, why cant we decorate for Christmas?
Thats a great question. So I called Greg Hatzis, the headmaster at the public school.

Meanwhile, I was so pleased that at my daughter's public middle school chorus concert tonight, I got to hear a beautiful rendition of O Holy Night.
Question would be: Why bother to decorate at all? For what reason?
Home school.

A late friend of mine used to sing that every Christmas with his church choir. It was indeed beautiful and moving, even to a non-religious person like me.
the decoration should be a single large black sheet
without Christ, there is no light, no hope, and no reason for the season
Lately I've been hearing more "Merry Christmas" than "Happy Holidays" greetings. I find this refreshing. I think the 'War on Christmas' is coming to an end --outside certain Elementary Schools, sadly.
Just tonight in my local Walmart, a nice older black cashier wished me Merry Christmas. I immediately wished her a Merry Christmas as well. I wondered, only briefly, if I should have wished her a Happy Kwanzaa before deciding correctly that nobody celebrates Kwanzaa and this would have probably insulted her.
Yesterday, I heard “Merry Christmas” from cashiers at Target, Sears, and even (gasp!) Barnes & Noble.
Don’t even get me started on fakity-fake Kwanzaa.
I say screw the schools and the hidden Islamic agenda driven CORE programs. Just put the Santa Clauses up and keep putting another one up everytime they take it down.

And stores sure don’t seem to mind the huge profits that the Chrstmas season brings them
Now now, surely you mean the HOLIDAY season, or perhaps the WINTER season. I mean, really... must we attribute EVERYthing to some baby born 2000+ years ago?!?!

A baby that could heal the sick, the afflicted, blindness, and leprosy, raise the dead, walk on water, turm water to wine, and cast out demons yet the Left still refer to His Father as a “mythical sky god” or say He doesn’t exist altogether. Won’t they be surprised one day and probably soon.
“Christmas trees and Santa Claus have absolutely nothing to do with the true Reason for the Season.”
Honoring the birth of Jesus thru a Christmas tree and continuing to honor Saint Nicholas (and all of our Christian Saints) have EVERYTHING to do with the reason for the season.

What you said is just fabulous. We’re so involved with getting the darned shopping done that we overlook letting the stores know that we’ll only shop where they acknowledge the REAL reason for the season.
Come quickly dear Lord.
