I'll do a separate thread for each of GM muscle cars at another time (Pontiac, Chevy, Olds, etc).

I never thought of that — it makes sense but I would have to do some checking...

My 68 Opel (which isnt a muscle car) made my friends cars sweat. When I was young I built a plastic model of a (Buick) Opel dragster.

The owner of a screaming orange GTO Judge in my hometown never got over the fact that my ‘66 Caprice could blow the doors off his Pontiac hotty. My 396 was advertised at 375 horsepower. It was probably closer to 475.
GM, in those days, wanted to escape insurance company scrutiny...

They just don’t build ‘em like that any more.

The 65-66-67 Goats were screamers.I had a '66 for a few years back in the 80s. 4 barrel carb, I replaced the two-speed for a Turbo 400, and it made a huge difference. That car would get 21 mpg if driven properly (constant 75 mph). On one road trip I averaged 13.5 mpg cruising at 110 mph.

Another of my friends had a mom who drove a '71 Satellite Wagon. Very cool wagon!Something like numbers 15-17 above?

My brother had a GTO around that time, maybe a little later. They were great and fast cars. I had a 69 firebird I loved. 350 engine; but a few I think had the 425 engine.

My car. I loved this beast.

My folks had a ‘62-’63 Buick Riviera huge engine and a weird transmission (no shift). That car could fly but back end got squirrely at 100+ Mph. Cement bags in the trunk helped that.

My folks had a 66 or 67 Charger. Red with a white interior. 383 engine. Pretty car.

They don’t make them like those anymore. My wish list for autos is a 1914 Pope Hartford, a ‘54 Ford Skyliner and a 64 Ford Galaxie among others.

That car has been shot and blown up a few times.
