When a jaguar pounces, sometimes one bite is all it takes to get a meal. National Geographic has exclusive video of a jaguar taking down a caiman in Brazil's Pantanal wetlands. Luke Dollar, a conservation scientist who helps manage National Geographic's Big Cats Initiative, explains the hunt and explosive moment of predation.

So much for “kitty doesn’t like water.”

Yes--here is 7 lb. Kefira expertly dispatching her chosen prey, the Kong Kickeroo. It was an epic struggle, but she chased the Kickeroo down and killed it by a quick neck bite.

Depends on the kitty. There are at least a few cat species that are decent swimmers.

As for my little pride of house lionesses, they wouldn’t cross water even for fresh tuna!

Great video. I’m showing it to Catman next time he meows for Fancy Feast.

Are alligator/cayman shoes in my future? What do you think?

cool...the only Panthera species in either America.(watch out Arizona....they have been ‘spotted’).

a Cougar(feline not friendsmom), is nothing in comparison to a Jaguar.

The largest jaguars get to over 350 pounds, which is as large as most, though not all, lions and tigers.

Great footage, but a caiman is not a crocodile.

Supposedly you can tell if a kill is a jag. The skull will have two piercings at the ear. Fangs penetrate the brain.
They have a more beautiful coat than a Leopard. Stockier, shorter tail, not a graceful looking.
Even meaner than a Leopard.

A Caiman is a mini-me crocodile, not the big boys of the Nile. Not really a fair fight.

I’ve always wanted a red Jaguar, the 1980’s series. Real class. Inspector Morse drove one in the British TV show.

Under Obama, GM will come out with a “Pink Pussycat” car in competition with the British Jaguar. Will get one mile to the bag of Friskies.

Worked on an E type/ XKE JAG in the 1960s when I worked in a gas station. A father at my kids Boy Scout troop, a master mechanic just sold his. Nice car.
