Wasn't Edwards a leftist like his marxist bosses, Billy Paley and Eddie Murrow as well as his commie pal KKKronkite?

“How come everybody wore gray back then?”
If it was anything like IBM dress code back then, you wore that color w/pinstripes so the customer would listen to your sales pitch, rather than be distracted by what you were wearing. Neutral color required!

Douglas Edwards was an ole Alabama boy who graduated from the University of Alabama, IIRC.
I used to watch his 15-minute newscasts on CBS and was so impressed with his fluency. I cannot recall him flubbing much at all. Smooth as silk.
Somehow he got rid of his Southern accent—something difficult to do. Not a trace I could detect and I was a fellow Alabamian and would know. Strictly the approved Midwestern speech.
