General Mills says some Cheerios made without genetically modified ingredients will start appearing on shelves soon.

The Minneapolis-based company said Thursday that it has been manufacturing its original-flavor Cheerios without GMOs for the past several weeks in response to consumer demand. It did not specify exactly when those boxes would be on sale.

Original Cheerios will now be labeled as “Not Made With Genetically Modified Ingredients,” although that it is not an official certification. The labels will also note that trace amounts of GMO ingredients could be present due to contamination during the manufacturing process, said Mike Siemienas, a company spokesman. …

109oz box of some flavors at sams club for 8 bucks. I can eat for weeks!!

They are also sold at my second favorite man store. Menards. It’s a smaller box (10-16oz?), but under 2 bucks.

From a related USA article

-It was more about GMO sugar used, will now be non-GMO cane sugar instead of beet sugar

this was in response to General Mills spending million plus to defeat labeling laws, Europe Cheerios are GMO free

It we are going to feed the world, we are going to do it with GMO foods.

I’m not opposed to allowing most of the rest of the world to starve, but to rail against GMO foods and to think we can feed the world is even more foolish than believing ObamaCare can keep us healthy.

We have had 20 years of GMO foods, and probably about 80% of what we eat has, in some way, been a result, direct or indirect, of GMO.

You don't think store brands support the homo or other liberal causes? Ooogada-Boogada! BTW, store brands have all the flavor of soles on Pro Keds.

(1) If you KNOW the store supports Liberal causes, including the homos, don't shop there.

(2) Not to me. I have eaten a number of store brand "Cheerios" (whole grain oats) and they taste not much different than the original. Lots cheaper, too.

Stating the obvious....how could it be “original Cheerios” if it used GMO grains?
