Glavin was a whiney douchebag when he was with the Mets, but he does have the stats.

Great class! With these three, plus Torre, LaRussa and Cox...what a great year for the Hall inductions.

Thomas, plus Maddux and Glavine is quite the statement, too...in particular Thomas and Maddux who are sort of the anti-steroid symbols of the otherwise tarnished era.

Good choices, all. (I expect, though, that now most of the discussion will be about those who did NOT get in, rather than those who did.)

The Cubs letting Maddux go is the biggest mistake in their history, bigger than trading Lou Brock.

Craig Biggio, passed over again by just a few votes.

I find it amazing that these three managers didn’t know about players using steroids!

Biggio played his whole career with the Astros, playing numerous positions where needed. ...a loyal, team player.

And his stats should eventually get him in, I hope.

What a time to be a baseball fan in Atlanta. How lucky am I that I got to watch all those games with Cox, Glavine, and Maddox for all those years.

Can’t argue with those three, but I like “all time” stat players to get in. Jeff Kent: most Home Runs and RBI’s by a second baseman. Mike Piazza: Most home runs hit by a catcher. Craig Biggio: most doubles by a right handed hitter in the history of baseball. Those should get you in.

Cristy Mathewson, Walter Johnson, Dizzy Dean, Bob Gibson, Tom Seaver, Tom Glavine

Which one doesn’t quite fit??

The hall has become a joke

I think Keith Hernandez should be in as the All Time Best fielding First Baseman

Why is he not in, while Ozzy Smith is?

Mets fan, here. You’ll get no complaint from me on Hernandez. And he did win an MVP. He revolutionized how first base was played. Ask Don Mattingly.

ps....I don’t think the HOF should do any more than use STATS to determine HOF inclusion

I would allow in Pete Rose first and foremost(with the caveat that he can not ever work in baseball) lord knows he deserves it...he was the BEST and I never was nor ever will be a REDS fan.

then some of the best of the drug users. there are many 1950s Amphetamine users who are in the HOF now. don’t think they are not. It just wasn’t an issue back then...

if they want to trade their health and longevity for a big salary and they perform better than the next guy then I would not deny them the Hall....

Yankees fan here....I hate the Mets, but I too think Hernandez belongs in the Hall.....

I don’t like Mike Piazza as a person...but believe he too should be in the Hall. he was the best catcher of a generation.
