16 House Republicans to Obama: Amnesty 'Final Economic Blow' for American Workers

Sixteen House Republicans led by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) are demanding President Barack Obama get unemployed Americans back to work before granting amnesty to illegal aliens or bringing unprecedented levels of new immigrants to take jobs away from American workers.

“We write to you today on behalf of the 21 million Americans who can’t find a full time job,” the GOP members of the House wrote to President Obama Wednesday.

We write to you on behalf of the 6 million young Americans who are neither working nor in school. We write on behalf of the countless American workers whose wages today are lower than they were more than a decade ago. We write on behalf of the 90 million Americans over 16 – including early retirees, college grads living at home, and those living on welfare – who are not part of our nation’s workforce.

In addition to Brooks, Reps. Kerry Bentivolio (R-MI), Lou Barletta (R-PA), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Walter Jones (R-NC), Phil Gingrey (R-GA), Michele Bachmann (R-MN), John Fleming (R-LA), Steve King (R-IA), Ted Yoho (R-FL), Joe Wilson (R-SC), Steve Stockman (R-TX), Lamar Smith (R-TX), Steven Palazzo (R-MS), Mike Rogers (R-AL) and Jeff Duncan (R-SC), each signed the letter.

I will be writing my congressman and letting him know where I stand on this issue- zero tolerance for anything that even remotely resembles amnesty.

No need, it’s pillow talk for those two.

I'm simply telling mine - a member of the Main Street Republicans - that if anything at all passes, he isn't getting my vote, period, whether he votes for it or not. Furthermore, I will actively work to defeat him if something does pass and is signed by the illegal in the White House.

This is an excellent piece of argumentation. Or, I should say, it *would* be under most conditions.

0bama will turn it around, “hey they got their health care and we got their costs down to super-affordable (yeah, right) and now it’s time to take care of those less fortunate.

What is annoying is Congressmembers think amnesty lite is something a moderate Republican should do. Even Dennis Hastert stopped Kennedy’s amnesty plans. Amnesty is an extreme idea from some Libertarians.

Barletta is a moderate Republican.

I agree. This feels like Obama is holding a gun to America’s head really. He’s basically saying, if white people won’t keep me and my party in power, we will alter the demographics of the entire country in order to create a a large pool of brand new Mexican democrats and to hell with you and the consequences gringo. That’s exactly what this is and these 16 Republicans are heros for standing up and fighting.

Yes! Excellent! Where are the rest of them? And where are the Democrats for that matter—the champions of the American worker?

You can NOT use Marx’s ideas to help the middle class or capitalism.

(Marx was an open borders nut...)

If you don’t repeal 0bamaCare then amnesty will just be a kick to a dead horse.

Marxism creates a two class state consisting of the politically connected class and the slave class. A strong middle class is a threat to the politically connected class and must therefore be made “equal” to the slave class.

Yes, but the American people don't know that, wouldn't believe it, and face enslavement as a consequence.

Steven Palazzo (R-MS) At last, MS has a conservative congressman. But, is he backing Cochran for re-nomination?

It’s the right argument vs. amnesty.
Too bad Boner’s not listening.

Their [the Republicans] mistake is assuming that Obama cares. Obama knows exactly what he is doing and why he is doing it. His disciples and worshipers don’t, but he does. They even believe that he cares about them.
