Wesley Chapel, Florida--A couple was shot and the man was killed Monday afternoon at the Grove 16 movie theaters in Wesley Chapel, authorities said.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, the victims were got into an argument with another couple who were sitting in front of them. An altercation ensued, and the the male suspect shot the couple, authorities said.

Both victims were being transported to a Tampa-area hospital, but the male victim died. The female victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said..

Another patron inside the theater was able to detain the suspect until deputies arrived, and he was taken into custody, authorities said.

The theater was evacuated, closed and cordoned off. There was a large law enforcement presence at the theater just after 2 p.m.

Grove 16 is located off Interstate 75 and State Road 54 at 6333 Wesley Grove Blvd. It includes a restaurant theater called the CineBristo, but it isn't clear where in the building the shooting took place.

More information will be released as it becomes available.

Movie theaters are not what they used to be decades ago.

I'm betting the shooter was the cell phone user who felt "disrespected," if you know what I mean.

Of course, I'm never wrong, so maybe this could be a first.

...and rather than doing more about the discourtesy of cell phone use, the libtards will seek to criminalize guns in public venues...

Personal note: Movie must've sucked. No one used a cell phone during Lone Survivor...

Why? To show the sheeple they have been protected from further harm?

Its true, they were watching Lone Survivor and someone’s cell phone began ringing which apparently pissed someone off to the point that a shooting took place

Doesn’t matter what kind of movie it is, usually, for those who insist on using their cell phone.
Those doing it are doing it with the INTENT to annoy others,
and it’s a dare to say anything about it (which is a trigger to attack, like staring a chimpanzee in the eye).

I'll bet you are correct.

And what is with the "disrespected me" crap? Last I heard, respect is something that must be earned. Not given to placate an arrogant, loudmouthed racist to keep him from shooting you.

I turn mine off. Who needs any interruption at all when attending a good movie?

I think we're all thinking the same thing.

I leave it on vibrate just in case someone is trying to reach me, so if someone does call I just leave the theater and come back in once Im finished

i hate going to the movie theatre... most movies today are so long... 2.5 to 3 hours... the thought of sitting in a dark room for 3 hours out of one day just sickens me... to top it off, it is so expensive... there is one quaint theatre in downtown Fayetteville, NC that i enjoy going to--well, i have gone twice... The Cameo... it is small, inexpensive and they sell wine and beer...

over the holidays i did ee the The Hobbit 2, The Desolation of Smaug... it was long and expensive... but i went with my sons, and it was good...
