Deputies said Kayla Marie Shavers, 31, left her 9-year-old and 8-month-old children alone in the car in 38 degree weather while she went into the woods to hunt hogs. The 9-year-old called 911 because he was cold and said, "A police car would be warmer."
When deputies arrived, they found the children in the car and waited for Shavers to return. Shavers claimed she was close enough to the car to respond if the children needed her, but deputies said it took her over 40 minutes to return to the car.

“These days the kids have been trained by the schools to tattle on their parents any time they disagree with the way the parents treat them or the way they handle any situation. I will bet that any one of us could come up with several examples from our childhood that today could be prosecuted as neglect or abuse. Im not defending genuine neglect or abuse. Beating your kids or leaving them while you go out clubbing is abominable parenting. But lets save the legal charges for genuine neglect and abuse.”
I can certainly remember my parents leaving all of us in the station wagon while she ran into the Shop-a-Minute to get some milk. She never left us during a heat wave but during the cold? Us kids fighting each other warmed the wagon without any heater.
Well a gal has to have her priorities. :-)
“No good deed goes unpunished.”

I can hear Jeff Foxworthy now; "If you've ever left your 8 month old baby in a car while you went hog hunting.. You might be a redneck."
She better be wearing bright orange when she’s out a’huntin’.
SOOOOOEEEY!!!
I can envision lots of other scenarios.
Read the same stuff you did. Wore camo but no mention of gun, bow or knife. Typical hunter I guess.
