NFL commissioner Roger Goodell talked to the league’s network on Monday about a number of different topics, several of which included possible rule changes.
One of the issues discussed was the idea of eliminating extra points after touchdowns, which Goodell says are just about “automatic.”

Why mess with something that works
Without it it would be just run, score, kickoff, run, score, kickoff... it is part of the game and there are strategies
There is nothing more exciting than a fake kick of a point after or a muffed kick run in for a two point or fumbled and run back for a touchdown...
You are not so high and mighty and smarter than all else who came before you to decide this.
leave it alone
Might as well get rid of kickoffs too, and just give each team the ball at the 20.
And don’t forget trophies for everyone for participating!

To me it’s disappointing the league hasn’t moved the kickoff back to compensate for the bigger, stronger, improved technique kickers.
Watching all those touchbacks is a major waste.
