HOLLY HILL, FL (WFLX) - A man in Holly Hill is demanding an apology after his dog was shot when police raided the owner's house last week.
Richard Stotler says the officers were at his house to serve a warrant, but the only problem was they had the wrong address.

Don’t these cops have pepper spray?
I have used it before and it is unbelievably effective. I would guess even more effective than shooting them in the short time.
I wonder what would happen - as a private citizen knowing you’ve done nothign wrong - and someone shows up and starts breaking your door down shouting “police” - and you are yourself and defend yourself on hat you think are actual criminals saying “police” just to get in...like a fake raid...but the home owner not believing it’s the REAL POLICE - start firing and shooting actual officers...what would happen???
understand - I’m prior law enforcement - and this very incident is something we went over in training and out in the field - NOT to get the wrong house!
Justice would permit the owner to shoot, but not kill, the officer. Just one shot, though.
If I’m on the jury, he walks.
Is it me, or is the “cops kill dog” story becoming a daily occurence?

Dead men tell no tales. My bet is that the homeowner is quickly ventilated by the hormone-soaked jackboots along with any pets, children, elderly, etc. I’ve gone over this scenario in my mind hundreds of times. I know where I would sit/stand, how I would shoot, where I would shoot, what loads I have in my weapons, and various scenarios at the range including shooting without my glasses, left-handed shooting, and around-the-corner shooting at a local “Hogan’s alley” range.
I don’t expect to live through the confrontation, but I certainly hope that any survivors think twice before raiding a house.
I’ve worked in detail-oriented IT for over 20 years. We check everything three times to make sure we’re doing the right thing. That doesn’t mean mistakes don’t happen, but they’re rare; AND they don’t involve risk of death. If I were a cop, I would check and double-check that paperwork to make sure the addresses match up before following a jugheaded thug into someone’s home.
An armed home invasion is an armed home invasion regardless of who is committing it. It should be met with a lethal response.
What would happen to a citizen who shot a police dog just out of the blue and then came up with some SOB story....It looked at me wrong?
