George Young went on to produce a number of albums for another Australian band, AC/DC, which was founded by his brothers Malcolm and Angus, and (it sez here) played bass in AC/DC for a short while. An older brother had a band called The Grapefruit.

Memory lane... When I was a kid, a local radio station had a call-in question asking what ICBM meant; I was the first to call in with the correct answer, and I won a copy of this album. I can still hear that song in my mind, 50 years later. Thanks!

Well I'll tell you this...I went over to Frankie and Johnnies Steakhouse on 37th St and because we didn't have reservations, they were quite snotty and tossed us into the bar. After a couple shots of Macallans, we staggered on over to the Havana Central in Times Square where we had copious amounts of mojitos and seafood.

That was when we were suckered into paying $29.99 to have a cup full of personalized M&Ms. Absolutely insane.

Here is a great (IMO) live performance of it by Stevie Wright in 1987. Drugs and alcohol had taken a big toll on him since the Easybeats, but he still had that special something on stage.

Yeah...”I’m reminded of a time when teenagers, “muscle” cars, and a blood alcohol level of .014% was known as “Saturday Night, and the party’s just getting started”.....

The Easybeats...were the first Australian rock and roll act to score an international pop hit were the first Australian rock and roll act to score an international pop hit

He may not be a rock and roll act, but Rolf Harris made a huge score when his single Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport--which he recorded in 1960--finally crossed the Pacific. In the summer of 1963, everyone was playing it in juke boxes, singing it, making up new lyrics, etc.

"Friday on My Mind" began "bubbling under" the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #131 on March 11, 1967, although it may have scored earlier in local markets. A few weeks later, it was in the top 20.

Here's another tune that charted about the same time:

Its a Happening Thing--The Peanut Butter Conspiracy

You were probably a conservative at that time, or trending in that direction, since conservatives, being national security-minded, would have been more likely to know that acronym. On the other hand, liberals would have had the advantage had callers been asked to define UNEF or ACDA.
