Meth lab discovered inside Chamblee hotel

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —

Investigators dismantled meth lab found at a DeKalb County hotel Saturday night.

Channel 2 Action News was at the scene as the Georgia Bureau of Investigations began their investigation. Our crews watched them, armed with search warrant, go inside and investigate the meth lab.

The owner of the Lodge on Buford Hotel only meant to evict a tenant who hadn't paid his bill, but he found himself calling Chamblee police.

“When the officer got here, the tenant had actually left. He went inside with the owner of facility and found all the components of a methamphetamine laboratory,” said GBI agent W. Joseph Chesnut.

Soon after, the GBI arrived.

“We secured a search warrant, the DeKalb County fire department went in with their hazardous material crew, they took air quality readings to ensure the air quality was safe for the people on that floor,” Chesnut said.

Chesnut said it was the second meth lab they've been called to in the past week and a half in metro Atlanta.

“Nobody has asked me if I wanted drugs. So I'm a little surprised to hear that, but I guess you're going to get that at all these kind of places,” said hotel guest Chris Mercer.

“Police bust Schuyler meth lab”

I thought she was only involved with laundering the money at the car wash.

He did the first time that He and Jesse cooked a batch. Of course they cooked the meth in an RV in the desert.

The series was completed this past fall. WW died in the final episode but ended up killing the people who needed to die.

I’ve never seen that show. Does he really go around in jockey shorts and no pants?

Not really.

But there was one episode I happen to recall, in which Walter and Jesse spend a frantic weekend out in the desert cooking up a mega batch of meth only to find the RV's battery dead when they're ready to return, Jesse having left the key in the ignition. Their generator blows up when they try to use it jump the engine. Their phones don't work. Ultimately, they end up improvising a battery, which they use to start the engine. By the end, they are quite worn out.

No problem. I’m a frequent hotel guest and I’ve always appreciated the privacy given me when I hang that sign outside the door. I don’t hang the sign too often but sometimes when I’m staying multiple days, I like to sleep late and would rather defer a day of room cleaning to catch up on my sleep.

The illegal roaches from El Salvador renting the house next door to us cook up a batch first of the month most every month. You go outside about 1l:00 PM with the dog and your eyes start burning and the smell is like burning wire or something. I’ve told the cops two or three times about it. They do ZERO!

There is so much meth being made in the Metro Atlant area the cops could never keep up with it.

“You go outside about 1l:00 PM with the dog and your eyes start burning and the smell is like burning wire or something.”

The good news is, the burning wire smell is not meth. The bad news is the burning wire smell, is well, burning wire. Or the insulation from the wire. The steal copper wire and burn the insulation off to sell the copper.

So, not only are they cooking meth, they are also stealing copper.

Even the illegals know. Ya just gotta diversify.

We keep hoping they will blow themselves to kingdom come one day soon. We will be gone to our retreat soon never to return so we mostly just ignore it.
