Jason Collins, who last year became the first male player in major American team sports to come out as gay, will be one of first lady Michelle Obama’s guests for Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, the White House announced Monday.
Mr. Collins, a former Stanford star who played for six NBA teams, including the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics, revealed his homosexuality in a Sports Illustrated cover story last spring. Since his announcement, Mr. Collins, 35, has remained a free agent.

I’m sure his female ex-fiance will be sad to see him on TV.
It’s like a circus with Obama the clown.
He could be bench player...contribute some minutes..he’s not bad defensivelythe last guy on the squad...and it’s important for when teams practice...but he’s not that good that it warrants all the hype and chaos that would accompany it..
Same thing with Tebow. Could he be a serviceable backup? Sure, but would it be worth the distractions that come along with it? And I say that as a Tebow fan.

The newsworthiness of this foreshadows how NBC will cover the Sochi Olympics.

It’s just the slow Brain Washing of the People
Of course, our “bystander” President has NO knowledge of IRS, NSA, Fast & Furious, Benghazi, etc......but, he does SOMEHOW find out about a middle-of-the-road NBA player (Jason Collins) coming out of the closet and is able to personally give him a phone call within a couple of hours of finding out. That is a microcosm of the world we live in today.....FANTASTIC!!
This kind of stuff does not sit well with ALL of his base..
If we exploited that he was the first BLACK and GAY president he would lose a ton of support from that community.
Esepcially if we point out how much he has done for gays and how little he has done for blacks.

Accomplishments?
Being somewhat skilled at putting a ball through a hoop, and being a Sodomite don't really register high on the list of what I'd consider to be 'accomplishments'. Maybe he was a semi-proficient entertainer.
Hopefully he has some real accomplishments under his belt (none which you or I listed) - but being a good Dad and/or husband certainly aren't any of them...
The USA is now all-gay, all-the-time.
Reminds me of when Bill Clinton wanted to meet that tall girl basketball player.
