I ran into this new $100 bill in Las Vegas.

One LV merchant said it might be a way to avoid forgeries.

My thinking is that there's more to it than forgery protection.

Among other things, the new bill has a 3-D image on it; and it wouldn't surprise me to learn that it's invisibly detectable by machines such as those at airports.

Yea, I got some of those a few weeks back when I needed to get some cash from the bank. They’re pretty elaborate looking for sure.

After I was discharged from the USAF in 1979, my first civilian job was in casino security at the old Silver City on the Strip. I never saw so many $100 bills flashed about!

I recall the old “New” $20, and seeing someone tear one up because they insisted it was “fake”.

When you hold it and turn it over slowly. The Liberty Bell disappears. That’s how you know it’s real.

Yup,I've seen one. It's certainly different...supposedly more difficult to counterfeit.I've read that there's an enormous number of $100 bills circulating outside the US and an enormous percentage of them are counterfeit. If that's true it's certainly a big problem.

Canada also has new bills out.I was there earlier in the month and came across a polymer $10 and $5 bill.I've seen polymer notes in other countries...Australia,Singapore,Hong Kong and Brazil...and they look pretty funky.Well, different for sure. They're supposed to last longer and be much harder to counterfeit.

Had a few of those 100’s a while back, the bank gave me two too many , they stick together so crumble them so they don’t stick .

even had one place didn’t want to take it, luckily the manager had seen one before.

I sold a dead pickup truck to my propane guy last week and he paid me with ten of these, brand new with consecutive serial numbers. I asked if they were still wet.

I got a few of the new $100 bills from the credit union two months ago. They looked like Monopoly money to me. I would have thought they were fake if I didn't get them from the credit union.

And so it does ... the Liberty Bell disappears.

And then too ... There's what looks like another image of Franklin inside the white spot above and to the right of the Liberty Bell.
