Local Meter Maid Throws Solo Dance Party While Issuing Parking Tickets (VIDEO)
SF Weekly ^ | Thu., Jan. 30 2014 | Erin Sherbert

Believe it or not, San Francisco meter maids have interests and hobbies outside of ruining your lives. For instance, they like to dance. Sometimes they like to dance alone.

As seen in this entertaining video shot by an amused driver who was able to capture the rarely seen tender side of our parking police.

Watch:

Paul Rose, spokesman for the SFMTA, viewed the brief video and made the following observation:

"Those moves aren't half bad considering the size of those tiny GO4s," Rose told us.

Lovely Rita, Meter Maid has learned to dance sitting down.
These days, you never know who’s watching you and for how long.

How exactly does getting a parking ticket ruin your life?

Is her name, “Rita”, by any chance?

I agree. Ruining my day, maybe. My life? It would have to be a pretty pricey ticket to do that, LOL.

I’m surprised a progressive town like San Francisco is using such an outdated, sexist and gender-biased term as “maid”. Isn’t it time to call them “Domestic Helper for Fine Enforcement” or something?

Well, that was underwhelming. I was expecting some kind of “bugaloo down Broadway” kind of celebration. I can’t help it. I love seeing happy people committing spontaneous acts of joy with mad abandon pretty much no matter who they are.
