Did you know that that Uncle Walt Disney was a misogynistic Jew-hater?
I didn't either until Meryl Streep informed me and the rest of the world of those purported facts the other day at one of those gatherings where the glitterati touch each other's, er rather, pat each other on the back and spout drivel.
Former Reagan speechwriter Clark S. Judge finds such notions fatuous:
...I was dismayed...when...Disney (was called) a "gender bigot" and an anti-Semite....[since] [t]he lead animator in Bambi...was a woman....[and he] had numerous Jewish friends, business associates and employees, supported a number of Jewish charities and in 1955 was named the Beverly Hill's B'nai B'rith's Man of the year.
Mr. Judge goes on to say:
As a child, one of my [Jewish] friends played in Disney's office. His father was in charge of some critical operations at the Disney studios. His mother was the model for Snow White.
It seems Disney was such a "gender bigot" that he refused to give significant positions to wimmin. Oh, wait:

.
She was great in “It’s complicated”. Also like her in “Devil Wears Prada”.
Other than that, eh.
Had Thatcher been a liberal she would have been portrayed as a strong,
independent woman fighting for equality in a man’s world. But
because she was a conservative she was portrayed as a strong insulting
and power hungry bitch. Good acting job but typical low brow
liberal narrative.
For a conservative, Walt apparently had some strange attitudes. Just ask any hunter!
Say something stupid and get a stupid reply!
I never said all actors are cattle; what I said was all actors should be treated like cattle.
Alfred Hitchcock.
Meryl was 58 when the movie was made, but if I remember correctly the “plot” of the movie revolved around her getting pregnant in circumstances much more suitable for the behavior of a woman in her late teens or early twenties than one in her mid/late thirties.
Do you see a pattern....its a form of camouflage
The left always ties a race to it political action as a form of human shield
In the 50’s..if your anti communist. Your anti Jews....of course if you were an anti-communist jew you we’re not really a jew per the left
Today if your anti socialism your anti Black...and if your black and anti socialism per the left you’re not really black
Are you speaking of Mamma Mia? If so, Meryl being pregnant was not part of that story. FWIW
Unless I’ve completely blanked the movie out, the plot revolves around a young bride who wants her father to walk her down the aisle. Problem is she doesn’t know who he is, except that he’s one of three men her mother was involved with at the time.
The mother is played by MS. I always got the impression the new bride was in her early 20s, and that her mom had been the same age or younger when she got knocked up. Which would make her mid-40s at the time of the movie, not late 50s.
This is common, though not admirable behavior for a very young woman. For a woman is her mid to later 30s, not so much.
She still wasn’t any good in it. Properly cast, that movie would have become iconic like Grease. Yes it was financially successful, but it fell far short of it’s real potential.
Apparently you have never seen the show done right. Streep was just short of sixty and the mother should have been very early 40’s. I have seen the show on stage 3 times and any of the leads would have put Streep to shame.
I wonder if Streep’s attack on Disney as an “anti-Semite” was a precursor to getting her role with Harvey Weinstein’s upcoming anti gun movie.
I misunderstood your original post, opps!
Agreed, that is quite the stretch.
Mamma Mia was just not my cup of tea.
The movie I appreciated MS in was Sofia’s Choice,
and oh how I wish she would lose the ‘act’ of ‘oh me, again?’
It’s getting old and hallow.
