A 79-year-old woman mistakenly backed into seven people in a parking lot with her SUV, killing three of them and injuring four.
The Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release Wednesday that Doreene Landstra of Palmetto has been ordered to appear in court next month after receiving a citation for improper backing.

She ONLY got a CITATION for BAD BACKING UP!! HOW is this fair or right??? This happened not far from us and I have heard NOTHING more than this!!!

Anyways, Saudi Arabia just said the are changing their plans to allow women to drive soon...

It's sad when our elderly can't recognize the time to stop driving, they find it difficult to give up that freedom of travel and control of their lives. It hit my Dad very hard but we knew it was past time for him to stop driving. My Mother was much easier as she recognized her reduced ability and made the decision for herself.
I think we need much more stringent guidelines for elderly drivers at the DMV. Of course I will never have a problem with my driving. All that said, prayers to the families of those affected and the driver who has to live with this.

About 2 years before my dad died, we had to take his car away from him. He got to the point he would pull out without looking and driving very poorly. He was a menace to everyone.

No kidding. Should have been for “Extremely Awful Backing Up” at least!
Not to make fun, it’s manslaughter, multiple counts. Just that “Bad Backing Up” sounds like a citation that should be in a cartoon.
