Michael Sam, the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Year and Missouri’s All-American defensive lineman, told ESPN’s Outside the Lines and The New York Times on Sunday that he is gay.
Sam is projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft after leading the SEC with 11.5 sacks and 19 tackles for a loss, but he’ll be happy playing for whatever team wants him.

So tired of this. I don’t personally give a rip. I am just tired of having the sports media and every media dominated by this. I miss the days pre-2008 where news was news, sports was sports, and the two rarely intersected.

I just read about this guy via another source. He was number seven of eight children, primarily raised by his mother. He spent time with another family though I don’t know if they were family or a foster family. He has a few siblings in prison. A few are dead. Sounds like a recipe for confusion. I hope he will seek God at some point.
If he’s a bust, would it be considered homophobic if people changed that Sam Sucks?
Man I sure hope the Seahawks don’t draft him. That would mess up the chemistry and brotherhood comradery in the locker room. Now they have to watch their back in the showers.
Why should we care who or what he “ sleeps “ with? It’s certainly none of my business. Why do these people and the media insist on telling us these stupid irrelevant things ? Perhaps to fill up newspapers so they don’t have room left to find out and tell us about anything really important?

Oh, and Michael Sam is an HIV / AIDS patient in waiting, if it hasn't already happened. MRSA a big problem in football locker rooms. The sport with many more cuts, abrasions, open wounds than others. Unfortunately, some NFL team will take the sex pervert. None should.

Since when did it become customary for athletes to announce their sexual preference? Are they looking to join a team or are they looking for a sexual partner? It just seems so strange.
