This is the day to get warm and fuzzy publicly about your mate. Mushy is okay today guys. Tell us about your gal(or guy) and let the world know what a wonderful mate you have. Then send her a link to this thread to let her(or him) know that you told the world what a great person you have in your life.

I'll start by bragging about my wonderful, lovely wife. My wife is the best person that I have ever known, and I am not kidding guys. She has made my life complete in more ways than I could could count. I am honored that she chose my sorry self for a mate, and stays with me through thick and thin, better or worse, sickness and health, though I am not worthy and cannot understand why, other than she made a commitment and is living that commitment. I love her dearly and feel very loved in return. She is all I could ever want in a wife, and more, much more. I am indeed blessed.

I certainly WILL brag on my wife. We met on an arranged double date, one year after she was saved. I later called her my ‘whirlwind’. She added a lot of change to my life. I proposed to her in church, on the day I was baptized into the church. And we were married there. I do love her so, and she too has stuck with me, making me wonder what she is thinking. I am a lucky man, and I’ll tell all the world that I am so. I Love You, Patricia. You ARE my Baby.

I don't get mushy, warm and fuzzy publicly very often, but here is something I picked up from the internet, and saved for this thread.

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, “Richness, can you take me with you?” Richness answered, “No, I can’t. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you.”

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. “Vanity, please help me!” “I can’t help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat,” Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked, “Sadness, let me go with you.” “Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!”

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

Suddenly, there was a voice, “Come, Love, I will take you.” It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder,

Love asked Knowledge, another elder, “Who Helped me?” “It was Time,” Knowledge answered. “Time?” asked Love. “But why did Time help me?” Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, “Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is.”

That’s a great story. We are saved also. My preacher once compared a marriage to a tri-angle. God at the top, man and woman at each lower corner. As you both move up closer to God, the closer you get to each other.

Met my husband in college. We dated about a year or so and soon after I was knocked up, lol. However, there was no hemming or hawing, or talk about not getting married, or abortion, or any of that cowardly wishy washiness. There was just a silly sh*t eating grin and a lot of sitting down at the table, planning it all out, and figuring out how we’d get married and make it work.

And ever since then he’s just always been by my side. He’s not the most romantic, and I’ve come to understand it’s just not his forte. His forte is taking charge, being strong when I’m weak, and not turning his back on his commitments. We have three great kids. The last one has special needs, and when about 80% of the men of these children decide to leave their wives, well, you can imagine mine isn’t one of them. In fact, he just continues to do what he does best ...adjusting to the situation, and figuring out how to make it work.

I look young for my age, and I think it’s because of who I’m married to. He makes me laugh every day, and our fights, although passionate, never last long. I just never have to worry that he won’t be there for us. I feel badly for women who have to worry, and can’t trust their husbands. I don’t have that.

What else can I say? He’s also still fit and cute in his 50’s, and he’s served our country for 26 years including two deployments to the Middle East.

He’s a keeper, and quite a hottie if you ask me. I still get excited at the thought of us getting away to destinations alone. It will be 27 years this April.

My wife and I were off work yesterday because of snow from the night before. We got up before sunrise and walked in the snow until the sun came up then went to Cracker Barrel and had breakfast. While I was paying I saw her looking at a yellow handmade blanket in their gift shop. She told me it reminded her of a blanket her mother owned when she was a little girl. I went back yesterday afternoon and bought it for her. Gave it to her at the breakfast table this morning for Valentines Day. She cried like a baby.
Happy Valentines day to all.

That’s a great story; you and he are both special people. I believe that God gives these special children to people that strong enough to raise them.

I met my husband here on Free Republic. We both listened to Tony Snow and Mark Levin. Both Freepers, BTW. We have been married almost 7 years now.

Love you, Cibbie.

Met an awesome woman not too long ago, about a year or so after a breakup with a fiancé.

The new one has a CCW, loves to hunt and fish, can cook almost as good as me, and spoils me rotten.

I am in love.

Anyone who puts up with me for 25 years deserves a medal.

How’s that for romance?
