Warning that weather-related disasters will only get worse, President Barack Obama said Friday the U.S. must rethink the way it uses water as he announced new federal aid to help drought-stricken California.
Obama drew a clear connection between Californias troubles and climate change as he toured part of a farm that will go unsown this year as the state faces its worst drought in more than 100 years. Even if the U.S. takes action now to curb pollution, the planet will keep getting warmer for a long time to come thanks to greenhouse gases that have already built up, Obama said.
Were going to have to stop looking at these disasters as something to wait for. Were going to have to start looking at these disasters as something to prepare for, Obama said.

That is exactly what happened. And the reason the greenies turned the water off was to protect an endangered species, a freaking smelt. Studies have shown that the greenies killed more smelt looking for smelts than were killed by the water flowing into these valleys. Stupid morons.
Control water
But they can fricassee birds with solar power facilities and kill birds including eagles with wind power blades.
I know where this is leading. Water meters on private wells so they can collect tax on water you get from a well you put in yourself. It has come up before. You can google it.
I’m certainly not disagreeing with your take on things. Tin foil is useless when your country has been turned into Htrae.
I had to look up Htrae, but that’s spot on.
Obviously Obama never read the Declaration of Independence’s Preamble of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment. I consider water to fall under the part with “Life” in the sentence that says “The right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness”.
Water is the essential molecule of life.
Did he create water out of wine while he was in CA?
From its beginning in Eden, man-made “climate change” in the Bible was caused by the sins of mankind, not by greenhouse gas.
Almost every city on this planet is located beside some body of water. There is a reason for that.
Whenever a politician uses the pronoun “we”, hang on to your wallet.
Gold prospectors 100 yrs before that..they should have been taxed!
The Canuks might have something to say about that.
I had a professor in the mid ‘90s who told us what a disaster the water policy out west was - no mention of global warming, just insane bureaucrats...
I'll bet Woodrow Wilson said the same thing 100 years ago.
Actually, the state that needs to be doing something about water right now is Texas. This is for three reasons: that much of Texas is typically arid and subject to drought; that Texas has a long border with the Gulf; and importantly, that Texas has a vast supply of natural gas available to it.
Importantly Texas already desalinates a lot of water, having about 46 desalination plants. But typically these are smaller, municipal plants. So in addition, Texas should plan for the future by pumping vast amounts of water inland to what amounts to gigantic artificial cistern-aquifers.
On the plus side, once the cisterns are full, local recovery of their water in time of drought should be much less difficult.
Control the food and water supply; control the masses.
PERIOD.
barry is doing well for his masters.
“worst drought in more than 100 years”does that imply that through Scientific studies of tree rings, sediment and other natural evidence, researchers have documented multiple droughts in California that lasted 10 or 20 years in a row during the past 1,000 years compared to the mere three-year duration of the current dry spell.
The two most severe megadroughts make the Dust Bowl of the 1930s look tame: a 240-year-long drought that started in 850 and, 50 years after the conclusion of that one, another that stretched at least 180 years.”
The motto for California should be save water bathe with a friend.
Nothing mentioned about tne big puddle of water due west of California? How much is a desalination plant? Certainly can’t be more than the 2.2 billion it cost to roast the birds in mojave?
