Residents of Oklahoma were left feeling rattled over the weekend after a strong of some 20 earthquakes as powerful as 3.5 magnitude rocked the central part of the state on Saturday alone.

Areas north of Oklahoma City felt the brunt of the temblors, which some say were accompanied by startling booms like the sound of an explosion.

The mystery earthquake wave now has residents fearing for their personal safety and the security of their property. Meanwhile, scientists have been left scratching their heads over the quakes, which are becoming more frequent each day.

Judging by the comments after the article -- people must believe that the New Madrid quake was caused by fracking.

all powerful MAN...is screwing up The EARTH!.

these people have no idea of how massive and earthquake fault actually is and what little if any effect pumping ANYTHING in a small chunk of the ground would have.

There can’t be any earthquake unless there is already stress built up in the rock. Nothing man can do to stress continental rock.

What? Strong? Rocked? Apparently the author has never felt an earthquake. Based on the butchering of our written language, I would guess he was indeed "rattled" over what he thought were "strong" earthquakes "rocking" the state.

A 'strong' of earthquakes?

Is that the past tense of 'string'??? Present participle of 'strung'???
