Gun Makers Find Greener Pastures Down South
Fox Business ^ | February 19, 2014 | Matthew Rocco

In the wake of new regulations in their northern home states, gun makers are going to the Carolinas, Alabama and other areas in the South for a place to open up shop.

Legislators in some states pushed for bans on the type of rifle used in the Newtown, Conn., school shooting in December 2012. New York and Maryland each passed laws that prohibit certain types of semi-automatic rifles and capped the size of magazines, while Connecticut also restricted the number of rounds for a single magazine.

All three of those states are home to familiar names in the gun industry, some of which threatened to seek out expansion opportunities in other states or move their operations entirely. …

Since cars kill tens of thousands a year....shouldn’t the same states outlaw the production and maintenance of cars....thus driving car sales, production and maintenance to the southern states as well? It would just seem logical.

NOT “greener pastures” - what they’ve found is basic protection of freedoms guaranteed in the constitution, a document no longer respected or enforced by the Left.

Move the business but leave the employees. They most likely
voted for the tards in the first place, are union and will
eventually screw up anyplace they go. The last thing we need
here is a bunch of Massachusetts freedomphobes telling us
how they did it up north.

Yes, and it is not just guns.

Businesses are like beautiful women who know they are beautiful. Treat them badly and they leave in search of someone who will treat them better.

Ask China if you don’t believe me

Being a successful poet....only works...if your wife chops the firewood, works at a full-time job, and your drinking habit isn’t discovered by her.

Was it not North interference and meddling in South trade that REALLY sparked the (so called) Cival War ?

So the North does everything it can to eliminate trade from IT'S territory, the South sees a golden opportunity and flourishes, and the North (will) retaliate against the South ?

More popcorn, honey ...

Those southern boys and girls not only have guns, they know how to shoot them, thanks to their mommas and daddies.

The northern states need to get educated with freedoms. The south will rise and this time the CSA will have not only the south, but the great plains and some red areas of blue states.

When the CSA rises again, we might tell Mexico that we aren't going to let ILLEGALS stay.

BTTT, although I wouldn’t have posted this in chat. New jobs are not small potatoes in the Great Recession.

This process has actually been underway for decades, not only under the freedom narrative as seen in the most recent pushbacks against Constitutional infringements instituted by states, but even earlier for a far more practical reason -- profit motives. For example, Mercedes Benz and Toyota opened factories in Alabama a very long time ago for the relaxed attitude in profit crunching regulations and easier union rules. Or in some cases NO unions.
