WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A woman was hit in the face by a bullet Wednesday afternoon while training for a job in Williamson County. . .
Authorities say the woman was hit by a bullet in the right check and the bullet then exited under her chin near her mouth. . . . . .
There is no word on if the round came from the shooting range. At the time the woman was shot in the face, authorities say there were two or three people firing high powered .223 caliber rifles at the gun range.

.223 is NOT a “high power” caliber.
What is the “no blue sky” concept aimhigh?
“...high powered .223 caliber rifles...”
-
Just dang.
“...it’s surprising how many bullet hits show in the overhead barriers...”
-
You must be aiming too high.
I’ve seen bullet holes in the ceilings of most indoor ranges.Makes me wonder about some of my fellow gun owners.
Beat me to it.
Someone needs to explain to these guys that .416 Rigby is high-powered, that .300 Savage and .30-06 are high-powered ..... but those hot varmint rounds like .17 Remington, .220 Swift, and .223 are NOT "high-powered".
I wouldn't want to get hit with any of them, but "high power" is a phrase with meaning, and the writers need to discover what that is.
I was at a two week training class. During the break a guy came back from calling his wife. He was in shock. The neighbor’s kid was playing in the back yard in rural Tennessee and a bullet fired, apparently from a huge distance away, hit him in the head. They never found the culprit.
When I was cleaning my parent’s gutters in Tampa, I found four expended bullets of three different calibers. They’d hit somewhere on the roof and rolled into the gutter. Imagine the number of randomly fired rounds you’d need to find four bullets of three different calibers with such a relatively small collection surface.
I see people firing guns for celebrations in foreign countries and I’m amazed. (Though bullets fires straight up shouldn’t do much damage where the eventually land.)
This happened about 12 miles from where I live. Haven’t heard any fall out yet.
A .223 is high-powered? Not likely.
All those bullets were probably from one stupid neighbor.
Well, at least he ain’t sitting in the couch.
Give uh bruthuh his props fo at lease try enn...
Well do give us a “report” when you hear...
Got it.
THX
There on the door post was a bullet dent from what looked like a 9pm slug. I was just in shock. Broad daylight. Middle of the day.
What was disturbing was that if I, for whatever reason, "chose" to stop 3 inches shorter at the light, that bullet would have gone through the open window right into my head. The whole thing left me wondering if I had lived a good life, if I told all the people I love that I love them, if my life was complete... blah blah blah.
I decided that night I was gonna put everything in perspective and I returned to the intersection where I took the bullet... to go to that building with the murals that I had never been inside before... The only strip club in town.
I can think of few better ways to "celebrate life" than having a beer then putting a dollar between a 19 year-old girl's ti... er... breasts.
Damn!
