Seven other crew members were treated at a hospital for injuries suffered on the 110-year-old trestle above the Altamaha River in Wayne County.

Open Road Films, the film’s U.S. distributor; Unclaimed Freight, the Pasadena company producing the film; and the Georgia-based Meddin Studios film crew had permission from the railroad operator to film "Midnight Rider" near the railroad tracks, but they did not have permission to be on it, authorities said.

"I do believe there is going to be an issue about whether they had permission to be on the tracks," Wayne County Sheriff’s Det. Joe Gardner told the Los Angeles Times.

Variety reported that the film crew had been provided a train schedule by CSX and had paused for two expected trains. A third train caught them by surprise and sent people scrambling, Variety reported.

And it's funny how sometimes a train coming fast can be nearly silent, so you really have no warning.

When I was a kid I always deer hunted by the tracks. The empty coal trains headed for the mountain were loud with plenty of warning. The loaded trains headed for the ocean were silent.

Why would anybody do a “biopic” on the least talented member of that band?

Is Derek Trucks still with them, he is great? I lost interest when Dickey Betts was booted. Greg was nothing. He was the guy who was fooling around with Cher, his only claim to fame. Duane was great as was Berry Oakley.

Oh. Peace train. Gotcha.

Is Yusuf Islam still backing the fatwa to kill Salman Rushdie. A new ayatollah has just renewed the fatwa.

I liked his rough soulful voice.

Heard him on Dennis Miller's radio show a while back. It was painful hearing Dennis try to get an intelligible answer out of Allman. The guy is completely addled by a lifetime of hard drugs and alcohol.

The guy is completely addled by a lifetime of hard drugs and alcohol.

He had a liver transplant a while back. The heroine, alcohol and other drugs definitely took a toll.

Rememer how great is was with the Allman Brothers playing on the eight track on a warm Friday night.
