Missing Cat Lived in Pastry Factory for 3 Years

When pets get lost and are found weeks, months, or even sometimes years later, they are typically a little worse for wear.

Not so for Woosie, a cat in Great Britain that ran away from home three years ago. Instead of joining a circus, he went to live at a pastry factory, which made him one fat cat.

“He’s a heavy cat now — he’s quite large. We think that he may have been eating all the pasties and sandwiches up there,” Helen Johns, Woosie’s human mom, told the U.K.’s Daily Mail.

Woosie’s journey began in Gover in 2011 when, as they always did, the Johns let out their beloved cat for a romp in the garden. Unfortunately, Woosie never returned.

It wasn’t long after that Woosie would show up at the at the Ginsters pastry factory nearly 30 miles away!

How he got there is anyone’s guess, but it’s been theorized that he might have hitched a ride on a delivery truck or in another vehicle going to the area.

They still don’t have dentists in Britain, eh?

Yes he is! Bet he kept the mouse population down at the pastry factory. Meeses like pastries to pieces! Have had two cats who hitched rides to my house. Both loved to ride. Even in a yard cart.

There are a lot of sickos who want black catz.

Amen. Here in soviet Red Hampshire; there are more than a few 'cults' around. We have been feeding stray neighborhood cats for several years, but we always made a point to keep them locked in the garage around a full moon or a witches' sabbat. So far, so good.

Thunder and his twin, Lightning (a tuxedo), walked up to our house one Halloween. We haven’t let them out of our sight ever since.

“I would rather get lost in a distillery. :-))”

That would be the ticket, wouldn’t it. But, said, if you gotta get stuck somewhere for three years a pastry factory is pretty near the top of the list of places to do it in.

Whoa — that’s one good looking kitty.

That cat might just start a new trend — the pastry diet.

I agree, so I went to the article. The kitteh did not survive by eating the product, he was taken care of by the employees who fed him (apparently a lot). We have several kittehs where I work that are cared for by friends. “Work cats.”

Careful. The black cat’s human looks like she might conjure up a spell on you!

We had a tom cat that would regularly patrol for dames as far away as five miles. His circuits often took him two weeks. Not sure why he bothered coming “home”, we never fed him. He slept in the shed.

Well, the article says he had the run of the office, and would meet workers outside the factory every morning. Sounds to me like he was an outdoor cat that they let in the office, not the factory floor, during the day.

Even better for a cat, this was a Cornish pasty factory. That is, the joint made meat pies!
