The dog has a good case to get at least 1/3, but probably a lot more for sniffing the spot

This is the philosophy I used at the horse track (sarcasm):

“beginners may find $5 in gold, but if they’re lucky could take home as much as $200 worth.”

Make total sense to me. I know a guy who lost $100,000 worth of guns and ammunition while going to the 7-11 to get a Slurpee.

I can’t imagine why on earth they would tell anyone about it.

It's California.

Telling people about it means news reporters show up.

There's a good chance some of those reporters will be accompanied by video cameras.

That means that there's a chance that the finders will be on television.

That, in turn, means that maybe they'll be seen by millions of people. Some of those people may be agents or talent scouts for the entertainment industry.

Therefore, there's a chance that they, or their faces, or bodies, or voices, or personalities, or stories, or something, could lead to a movie deal.

They figure that the chance of meeting with foul play as a result of publicizing their newfound wealth is worth the gamble, because it gets them their first fifteen minutes of fame.

They plan to put most of the coins up for sale through Amazon while holding onto a few keepsakes. They'll use the money to pay off bills and quietly donate to local charities their Obamacare premium, Kagin said.

I can’t, I am rusty in that area, especially if it falls into the arena of collectibles and other odd income streams. I’d have to reach for the Aspirin....
