Brushing the Bobo Cat (good way to get rid of fleas)
LOL! :-)
I was wondering if Bobo was deaf.
Possibly, but the vacuum sounded quite muted to me.
It didn’t have that shrieking whistle and grinding motor noise that are so offensive to kittehs’ delicate ears.
My mom had a cat that would actually follow my mom around when she was vacuuming. She adored having her belly and back vacuumed with the upholstery attachment. Worked great for fleas too.
Every OTHER cat we ever had treated the vacuum cleaner like the spawn of satan. If you just opened the closet door where the vacuum lived they’d generally leave the room.
It is a Zelmer Elf Vacuum.
Pumpkin, our Tabby, can’t be bathed with the flea shampoo because it makes him really ill. We can’t give him anti-flea pills because those made him ill too, almost to the point of death.
The flea comb works well and we’ll dip it into a bowl with soapy water to kill them.
The two other cats we have will go berserk after taking a pill to kill the fleas. Seriously! It’s as though they’re on speed.
Remember the old SNL skit “Puppy Uppers and Doggie Downers”?
That was funny as hell.
Have you tried Garlic supplements for pets?
Baby Shampoo is what we use for fleas. Works fine. Just suds them up & wrap in a towel for awhile, then rinse. One of our kitties loves to be brushed & is ecstatic when we use a flea comb. Funny kitty.
As for vacuums, we had one who refused to be intimidated by them. You had to physically move her in order to clean the spot where she was sitting.
I’ve never heard of those until now. I’ll tell my mother about them.
Thanks for the suggestion. :)
I’ll mention that to my mother. Maybe she’ll use it.
Did you know you can feed a cat baby food? I think you can even give them baby aspirin.
Cats are wonderful!
You gotta check out that video. If only Slinky were so cooperative!
We have multiple indoor cats, and for 20 years had zero fleas. Then we moved to TN and adopted two ferals which introduced fleas to the house. Freaked us out. Not only were the fleas disgusting, but cats get tapeworm by ingesting fleas. So there was that.
Immediately we began dosing with Revolution once a month and the fleas on the cats were gone within the first day. Daily intense vacuuming of the house, furniture, etc., for a couple weeks took care of the critters in carpet, hardwood (they love hardwood), and upholstery. For us, the only financially feasible way to buy Revolution for multi-cat households is out of Australia. Otherwise, it would be impossible.
Vet gave Drontal to cure the tapeworm issue.
I had a Persian cat years ago, Mr. Hudson, who loved to be vacuumed. No others, though.
