‘Dead’ Man Wakes Up in Funeral Home Body Bag Just as Workers Prepare to Embalm Him (ACA)

The last thing you expect to find within a body bag in a funeral home is a living person.

But that’s exactly what happened at the Porter and Sons Funeral Home in Lexington, Mississippi, when Walter Williams woke up – hours after being declared dead.

In fact, funeral workers were getting ready to embalm him when he began to move.

The coroner had checked his pulse at roughly 9pm on Wednesday, declaring him deceased, but at 2.30am embarrassed workers had to tell his nephew that his uncle was still alive.

‘I stood there and watched them put him in a body bag and zip it up,’ Williams’ nephew, Eddie Hester, told WAPT.

The coroner said the ‘miracle’ may have been down to Williams’ pacemaker stopping and then starting up again.

‘I asked the coroner what happened, and the only thing he could say is that it’s a miracle,’ Holmes County Sheriff Willie March said.

Williams is now recuperating in hospital where he told his family that he’s happy to be alive.

Under Obamacare you get free embalming, when you are not necessary!

Surely its a miracle and not malpractice. Doctors are not the gods they believe themselves to be.

Dead men wake up all the time only to find they are in Congress.

In many states local coroners are often untrained or poorly trained so simply checking a pulse and not looking for other signs of death could cause this to happen.

“...simply checking a pulse and not looking for other signs of death...”

yes, that sounded a little cursory.

I hate when that happens.

You wake up and you’re in a dark box and you hear the dirt being shoveled on you. And there is not enough room to move your arms good to even knock on the lid good. So you yell, trying not to panic, knowing that every expenditure is wasting precious oxygen.

And then when they do get you out, you realize you’re wearing a suit jacket, no pants, and makeup. It’s just embarrasing.
