Wet weather is again hitting drought-stricken California as the second and larger of two back-to-back storms makes its way ashore. The storms are part of an atmospheric river, a narrow channel of concentrated moisture in the atmosphere connecting tropical air with colder, drier regions around Earths middle latitudes.

AND: they send celebritards out telling us to use low pressure toilets and to only use one square of toilet paper.
Yeah, they find any excuse to tax and play the class or race card to extract more from some than others.
That's almost a year's worth around here.

Lots of SNOW would be the big factor and also hopefully tons of the white stuff dropped where the run off goes to a lake or reservoir where water is drawn from.
Does us no good if it runs off where we don’t collect it.
Big question, knowing our water issues, why doesn’t CA never build more reservoirs for collecting the rain?
Been here for decades and you never hear a drive to build more when we need them.
Will work till the day this crashes and turns around, then when you have two non-Dems in elections you will get complains of non-representation, minority suppression and of course RACISM...
What a bunch of losers in this world these days.
Because we need a chu chu train much more than water..
Thanks. We would have to drive past the lake to get to you but what the heck. We might just pop in some afternoon. ;>}
Want to bet the person getting pay or a benefit or EBT and all their families mostly vote Democrat for the treasury? They are part of the flim flam and that is how Democrats stay in power. They have their fists in the Treasury.
Storms off the Pacific are often highly localized and fast moving. You’ll get pockets of 8” rainfall but not too many miles away zero. Too much, too fast and the water just flows to the Bay and Ocean. What really counts is the storms hitting the Sierras and depositing snowpack which melts in the summer and fills the reservoirs.
Shasta Lake is up almost 10 feet in a month.
More rain is helpful but the storms need to arrive colder so the snowpack can recover.
We’re in the 40s up here in Alaska, we are trying to push the cold air south to the west coast but it’s heading east instead.
Call ahead so I can be sure to meet you. if you make a special trip I guess I’ll have to extend the free beer offer to anyone you bring with you

Is this a year round offer? :-)
I'm in Alaska now but we go to the Reno Air Races every year and could drop by on the way.
Well, it would be about a 125 mile trek for us so it ain’t happenin’ today. LOL! We’ll let you know in advance. If you want, send me a FReemail so I can hang on to the info rather than trying to go back through all the comments.
Thx
Bill

I’ll go with Joe, no rain after this last pulse for a couple of weeks at least.
What counts most is what hits the Western Slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
I don’t know how well this link will work for you, but...
Pan out so you can see the whole Pacific. Turn off weather stations and radar. Turn on satellite. Go to settings (that little gear thing). Choose Infrared and sensitivity at 120, opacity at 100. Now look north of Hawaii. You’ll see the eye of this system, and a spiral to the east headed straight for California. The northwest edge of the spiral is sucking air from the Bering Sea/Gulf of Alaska. This, I think, is why Joe says this is not a pineapple express situation. One would assume that spiral is headed generally east, but it’s not a good idea to assume. Ask Joe. But he’s otherwise occupied today.
Yup. I know. Lived in Sodom on the Sound (Seattle) for 14 years.
