Woman Kills Motorcyclist in Hit-and-Run, Hides Evidence: Deputies

Deputies said Verdoni turned left from North Federal Highway onto Northeast 4th Street on a solid green light and struck 30-year-old Benjamin Piorsky who was traveling southbound on a motorcycle. Piorsky had attempted to brake, but struck the right rear of Verdoni's Ford SUV and was ejected on impact.

Sounds as though the victim was about to run a red light if the turning vehicle had a green. Must have been a reason to flee if the other driver was at fault. DUI, anyone?

Left turn in front of a motorcyclist is one of the most common ways to buy the farm. They both had the green, but she did not have right of way and turned in front of him.

When I rode, seeing someone in the left turn lane always made the hair stand up on my neck.

Sounds like she made a left in front of him. A solid green would indicate he had the green also. He tried to brake but hit the side back of her car. I could be wrong.

I interpreted it as her turning left on to the street upon which the motorcycle was traveling from another street. It wasn’t clear on which street the bike was traveling south.

My first thought was she found out he was using a car tire on the rear of his bike and she heard Obamas voice in her head, “Destroy!”
