Opening class early today! Salvos of congratulations for John Ridley’s Oscar win for “12 Years A Slave” should be resounding locally since he was raised in this suburb and graduated from the local high school. (His daddy was a highly successful eye surgeon. John was not deprived of ANYHING in his childhood.) Guess I’ll have to go see this movie now.
have been awake since 5:30 am EST bc the dang plow came through the cul de sac! only a few inches so far but it is supposedly going to snow an inch an hour until early afternoon. xshub flew out to NYC yesterday afternoon, figuring he could not get there today. xsfiance is supposed to head to Miami for a conference and his Mon AM flight was canceled yesterday, and he rebooked for 6:45 this evening. work and school was canceled as of 7pm last night, but i was awakened by the plow so no sleeping in for me!

We got lucky with this one. About 4 inches of snow yesterday, but then no more. I shoveled the driveway about 3 PM yesterday and was figuring to have to do it again. But I didn’t.

End of last week, we were in the 12-18 inch target zone, our crews were told to be on standby to put heavy equipment up on the highways. Glad it went elsewhere, I’m sick of the fish having a roof over them this winter. I don’t ice fish.
