The senate doesn’t have a prayer of doing anything right.

Let’s just go full-bore stupid, and add some eastern mysticism. As if Christ didn’t work out for this country.

He’s a buddhist. To what or whom does he pray?

Anything but a Christian prayer is OK. The Senate Chaplain opens every session with a prayer, and to date every Senate Chaplain has been Christian. So what kind of prayer do you think they offer?

Let's just go full-bore stupidYeah, *issing of China when we're stretched too thin to defend Taiwan or those Japanese islands is just about there.
It's like Obama is so dumb that he can't take two separate facts and see how they impact one another.

The Congress always has a prayer. Too bad they don’t really listen to it. Although the House Republicans until 2014 had been pretty good. 2014 they have sucked almost as badly as the Democrats.

Buddhism is not a religion...There is no God as part of it.

Probably a generic prayer.

You are correct, and I don’t have a problem with the Dalai Lama coming and giving some sort of spiritual talk in the senate. I don’t have anything in common with him theologically, but he seems like a good man.
What I want to know is, is the Freedom From Religion nutcase society going to protest this like they do anything Christian. I won’t hold my breath.
To: Sacajaweau
Buddhism is pantheistic and ancestor worship.
There are many gods prayed to and appeased by ritual as well as prayers and ritual for ancestors to help.
To: rktman
The Dalai Lama's Buddhist teachings include that those who do evil to other people, lie and spread untruth will be punished by being reborn in a lower state. He should warn Harry Reid that he is in danger of being reincarnated as a hyena's dingle berries.
