This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks.

No matter what, you won’t be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. There is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!

NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.

They now come in more decorative colors that you may like for the inside. You can put 6 herb plants in the full size box - 3 in the Jr.

We have some Jrs that we use for patio flowers, but the big thing for me is the automatic watering system and it only works with the full size unit.

She was comatose when we picked her up, so I figure that The Creator is behind this for some reason we’ll never know.

They’re gorgeous! What breed are they? We took a few photos of her but haven’t uploaded them yet because our old camera has a peculiarity—you have to upload everthing on the memory card when you get three new poses lol! I’m waiting until I get a few more photos before I hook up the camera for 45 minutes.

And here are some of the other projects that I hope will turn out okay. I just found out that my water is too alkaline for the happiness of some of the plants so I'll be getting a test kit and some PH adjuster this weekend.

The freshly-sprouted carrots

My new Serrano pepper from Home Depot

and the raspberry bush

Thanks! They’re Rhodesian Ridgebacks. The “lion hound” of south Africa.

My idea is to have a tiny green house and heat it with a hundred watt bulb. That would be about all I would probably be able to handle. LOL

Hubby could manage a full size green house. He’d probably want to put one of those fancy wood burning furnaces in though.LOL

I don’t blame you. Besides you can’t beat a lemon for cooking, cleaning, and medicinal uses.

Are they easygoing dogs? We adopted a hunting dog from a family member who lost her home. That dog was quite a challenge--smart, resourceful, fearless, friendly and not in the least shy, it was nothing for him to jump the 5-foot chain link fence and cruise around the neighborhood, terrorizing everyone in sight who didn't know that he was a sweet and cheerful dog (he was pretty rangy and weighed between 90-100 lbs.). At least we got to know a lot of the neighbors when he took off on his jaunts.

He finally stopped escaping when Mr. Sg put up an electrified fence and put one of those collars on him. He eventually became too old to easily jump the fence, but he'd deliberately wear out the battery on the collar by sitting as close to the fence as he could stand it. Smart, tough doggie.

I have not even went to get a cattle panel for a grow arch, the procrastination is starting to show!

Go get your cattle panel..You might decide to turn it into a greenhouse when it gets cold. I might decide to un-make mine from a greenhouse when it gets hot.

They have varieties that work for spring planting. I always do mine in the fall, because I don’t have enough good beds for summer plantings anyway.

They are loyal, intelligent, affectionate and brave. We have a six foot, chain link fence around part of our yard. This is a good description of the breed:

Temperament
Rhodesian Ridgebacks are loyal, intelligent, and somewhat aloof to strangers. This is not to be confused with aggression; a Ridgeback of proper temperament will be more inclined to ignore, rather than challenge, a stranger. This breed requires positive, reward-based training, good socialization and consistency; it is often not the best choice for inexperienced dog owners. Ridgebacks are strong-willed, intelligent, and many seem to have a penchant for mischief, though loving. They are protective of their owners and families. If trained well, they can be excellent guard dogs. Like any dog, they can become aggressive when they are not socialized properly.
Despite their athletic, sometimes imposing, exterior, the Ridgeback has a sensitive side. Francis R. Barnes, who wrote the first standard in 1922, acknowledged that “rough treatment ... should never be administered to these dogs, especially when they are young. They go to pieces with handling of that kind.”[9] The Ridgeback accepts correction as long as it is fair and justified[citation needed], and as long as it comes from someone he knows and trusts.

We are on the same page.

My idea of a raised(2ft) container garden is largely to test this little sunny patch before putting a TP2 greenhouse there.

you could always try heating the plants from underneath with a pad instead of heating from above with a bulb.

You’d just need an extension cord run out to your greenhouse to plug it in.

Yeh that works too, but I already have a huge stash of 100 watt bulbs that I bought for various heat uses.
