For 68 years, this woman fruitlessly searched for answers regarding her fighter pilot husbands death. When she finally found out what had happened, it was greater than she could have imagined.

It’s sad how few congressmen actually do any work for their constituents. Truth is, though, this story only saw the light of day because it showed a useless Republican. A friend on Facebook posted a story the other day about the passage of the prescription drug benefit bill. Since the media can’t point to many positives for Dems, they are going to spend the year pointing out how much the GOP sucks too.
Just a thought.
Amazing story of courage, faith and valor.
The political hacks that suck in both parties MUST be voted out in 2014 and 2016. You know their names! I do believe We The People have lost patience with self-serving, Elitist crooks in office, ya think?
You got that right. 68 years?
Get rid of them and their life long retirement plan.
Touching.
And Rep. Thornberry is no hero.
But it does seem to have been easy to get the records.
And I may be insensitive, but she could have made another hero happy.
No,that's not insensitive. My attitude, had I been Billie, would have been "if I die in combat,I hope you'll have a short period of mourning, but not a long one.I hope you'll never forget me but,in time,if a guy comes along who's good to you, treats you with respect, cares for you...then by all means marry him".
I early-voted conservative! No GOPe for me!
Add to that a blurry screen alert. How incredibly touching.
In and out. If they don’t shine they will be lucky to get the tar and feather treatment and boot in the ass on their way home.
Thanks GlA...good story.
Thankyou, I love History and I love America (except fo a few politicians)
This has been the most touching story that I have heard for some time.

What a sweet story (other than the congressman’s inaction). Thanks for posting.
Amen to that!
Thank you for sharing such a moving story.

This is the incumbent I ran against in the Republican Primary -— he was reelected, again.
