I didn’t have a brain monitor on….by coincidentally, I was traveling yesterday and pulled into a Subway for lunch (my wife likes their salads). I had the Flatizza. hate the name, but it wasn’t bad.

I like the Subway salads, even without a brain monitor.

I don’t eat at Subway anymore as I don’t like yoga mats and other rubberized products in my sammich.

Oh, that. Azodicarbonamide in bread is used as a bleaching agent and to make the dough rise faster. In plastics, it creates bubbles by nitrogen decomposition; it’s not a component of the plastic itself but is called a “blowing agent”.

FTR, azodicarbonamide per US law can only go into bread at concentrations no higher than 45 parts per million.

HAH…doubt it….the flatizza has carbs, and lots of cheese, and no doubt high fructose corn syrup in the sauce…….

Either way, I’m not eating at Subway because of it. Jimmy Johns doesn’t use it as best I know and their sub’s taste better and have better meat in them. Credit Subway for creating a new Jimmy John’s customer.

I'm waiting for McDonalds to come out with a pizza item.

You know, all these great pizza joints out there and people have to resort to cardboard frozen pizza, Dominos, convenience store pizza and now this Subway pizza product.

Why not just get the real thing?

I was just throwing stuff out there related to the chemical. It’s synthesized from urea, interestingly enough.

Funny, when I think of Subway now, all I think of is yoga mat chemicals in the bread. Do the monitors pick that up?

Tons. There was a list on Business Insider the other day that listed 50 products using azodicarbonamide. But, Subway sticks out in my mind. (I never ate there anyway). I am sure I am getting my fair share of the chemical from other sources.

You didn’t happen to see azodicarbonamide listed on your bread ingredients, I hope?
