My phone and iPad work well. I’m really not into the hassles that upgrades cause.

What hassles? I just did it. Took five minutes. No hassles.

I hope it resolves the issue I’ve been having with home streaming movies filling up my, “Other,” data. None of my previous iPhones had that issue.

I doubt you’ll have any problem. It fixed a couple of premature app closing problems I’ve had. Reloading the app didn’t help and it was an intermittent problem. It hasn’t happened since the upgrade, knock on wood.

Does this new upgrade make any changes to existing apps?

I’ve only logged a little bit of time on my phone (4S) since the upgrade, but it certainly seems a bit “snappier” and I haven’t had any stability problems. As seems typical, it decided to turn Bluetooth back on - so if you are keeping it off to save power (especially for those of us not using any Bluetooth devices), you’ll have to switch it off again.

There are UI changes in the stock apps and in common resources, like the keyboard. 3rd-party apps would need to be updated independently if they were changing.

Does it apply to older iPads, like the iPad 2?

It should apply to anything that runs iOS 7. I think the iPad 2 is on that list (since it’s essentially the same device as the 1st generation Mini). I know for certain for phones (iPhone 4 or later) and iPod Touches (4th generation or later) but I’m fuzzier on the iPad situation.

I have a problem with Safari crashing, which causes me to constantly have to re-log in to FR. PITA. Do you know if this update fixes that?

Thanks!
cheers,
Jim

Yay! Improvements I’m looking forward to. I didn’t think I’d ever really use Siri, but heck, I pester her all the time.

New is that one holds the button down until done talking to Siri, rather than one push and she merely notices when you stop talking. That is a PITA for me. Also better finger print recognition (Hi NSA!).

none that I've run into so far.. My biggest issue was that I've developed an issue with deleted photos reappearing in my camera roll. . . But they cannot be deleted. These photos come from as far back as 2003. Why? I haven't a clue. I'm still exploring options.

If it does, the update will be available for your device... If not, it won't be.

Think I’ll pass on this update with the issues you both are having.
