Fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers applauded as the team was sold for $2 billion, and cheered with each expensive new addition.
Now the bill is coming due. And guess who is going to pay the price?
Actually, you don't need to guess. The way baseball finds ways to separate fans from their money knows no bounds...
At the heart of the issue is a new regional sports network that will pay the Dodgers $8.35 billion over the next 25 years. It was created by Time Warner Cable solely to broadcast the team's games, and it's the reason the new owners paid more for the team than any other professional sports franchise ever...

Another testimonial to the great wealth of California.
And think of all the NFL stadiums they have gotten built in other states by providing that “if you don’t pay we’ll move to LA” option.
Gouged again.
I wonder if Angelenos ever think they might have been better off to have left the Dodgers in Brooklyn.
Gees, there are already so many channels that I don’t watch, and don’t want to watch.
well, add another one.Unfortunately we pay whether you want the channel or not.
I’ve got to review my cable package and slim down.
ly
I wish they were still in Brooklyn.
Long as I can get Vinny on the radio, I’m good.
I have MLB network, so I suppose away games are a possibility.
Still not an inducement to change from Direct TV to Time Warner.
On the bright side there are no L. A. professional football games to black out.
OH yeah I think Dodgers game be shown on certain providers Verzion FIOS getting hassle by Dodgers fans Dodgers fans turn Raider Fan on their Verzion FB Page
They are NOT HAPPY
Also long I hear Vin Scully on radio I am all good
Don’t say that
Raiders may move back to LA I am Raider fan LOL!
Sadly, this is the last year for that.
Virtually the only thing I watch on TV is football — with an antenna. I ripped the cable out of the wall on the day Clinton was acquitted in the impeachment trial and have never looked back.
I quit paying for cable/directtv/fios because I don’t like paying for stuff I’m not interested in.
I now get all my tv viewing from the web and my roku. Quitting the tv package reduced my fios bill by $60 a month (I thought it would be more) but I’m happy to tell Hollywood and the MSM to kiss my a**, I’m not going to help finance your attempt to destroy my country any more.
I’d gladly pay a monthly subscription fee to watch the Dodgers, but I won’t sign up for another tv package from Verizon just to watch them, while being forced to pay for the crap Hollywood is putting out. Give me a la carte programming and I’ll buy it, but I won’t allow you to hold me hostage any longer by forcing me to buy your “package deals”
