Daycare is not a necessity when children are raised in a home with a loving parent who stays home to raise them.

They literally are going to take our paychecks through taxes and give us a small stipen. It will be like being a teenager and given an allowance but everything else will be paid for you. I still don’t get people who feel it should be free. I would rather pay day care for six years or so than for the rest of my life. I feel the same with College. So what if it takes 10 years to pay the loan. It beats still “paying” for it at 80. People are so stupid!!!
Here’s a thought, Hairy. How about cutting spending (and, therefore income taxes) so that one spouse might be able to stay home and raise good children.

Married couples in which one parent stays home to raise their children while the other works to support the family should (according to Reid) pay higher taxes to subsidize families in which both parents choose to work? I’m not sure I see the logic there. I would have thought that those who sacrifice on stuff, and live on one income, had no obligation to subsidize two income families.
In the view of the left, it is a necessity even for the welfare people.
Definitely a necessity IF you run a communist country. The earlier you can control the minds the better, which is what government funding of daycare would be, control.

If the gov’t wasn’t confiscating half my income, I’d have enough for the family to live on one salary.

They’ve already let slip that our children don’t belong to us, and hillary says it takes a village, so we all have to dig a little deeper for the common good.
If you personally can’t afford to take care of your kids, you ought not expect the village to do it for you.
