Just curious. Jealous of what???

Just read the anti posts. Jealous of the freedom of riding a bike. Of being active and healthy. Of being different. Of being in shape. It's a bunch of different things. But, the hate is way over the top for what cyclists do. Some of them must actually feel threatened by a cyclist. Why else would they think about killing them?

I think about the incredible tragedy it would be if I accidentally killed a cyclist after the cyclist did something dumb and reckless -- which I see them so all the time. If they screw up, and I cannot avoid them in time, then they end up dead, and my life ends up ruined. They threaten me because my life could be destroyed because they do something dumb.

I worry about that.

99% of bicyclists give the 1% who don’t suck a bad name.

Trust me, no one here is jealous of any of that. I have been on food and nutrition threads where I mentioned my plant based, whole food diet and preference for organics, and have received some really, really angry replies, none of which I interpreted as jealousy. Being active, healthy and in shape and not things that are valued here on FR, not even a little. LOL!

Riding a bike on the road is different, though. It inconveniences other people, usually with somewhere important to be. And even when you stay in your bike lane, drivers still veer slightly into the oncoming traffic lane as they pass you because you are so unpredictable. Biking on the road is, at it's core, a selfish act.
